Our Counselors Rock!

Mrs. Lewis did a demonstration for the kiddos last week.  Her focus was spreading kindness.  Ask your child how kindness can cause a ripple effect.

New Dictionaries

Our class would like to say thank you to the Rotary Club for reading to our class last week and presenting each student with a new dictionary.  We will put them to good use this year and students will get to take them home before summer.  So grateful!!!

Character Traits with Mrs. Kay Thomas

We had a blast last week with artist Mrs. Kay Thomas.  She is so talented and the kids really enjoyed learning how to apply character traits to art.  They created abstract faces from construction paper and pole puppets.  Fun times!!!

It was fun getting to know all our special visitors last Friday.  Some of our friends traveled a great distance to visit with their little ones.  Thanks so much for hanging out with us!

Book It Kickoff

Chest Vest

Proud Teacher!!!

We are so proud of these two for earning
MVP in PE this week!

Rounding Roadtrip

Hannah kicked off our rounding road trip! She was on her way to her favorite restaurant and just had to make a stop to the restroom.  She was at exit 27.  The only restrooms were at exits 20 and 30.  Which was closer because she needed to go bad?

Thanks Mr. Gallaty for sharing!

Thanks Mr. Mills for being a good teacher!

Read to Self

Where are the kids???? Look closely, I promise they are there!

We are building stamina for reading independently.  Students are working up to fifteen minutes without any distractions.  Sounds easy but can be very challenging in a room full of friends.  They are doing an excellent job!

Place Value

James and Hudson were great teachers during share time.  I learn so much from listening to their thinking!

Writer's Workshop

The best stories come from the heart!  Students used heart maps to inspire their first personal narrative of the year.

Saving Fred Was a Success!!!!

The students discussed and modeled the components of working in a cooperative group.  Their first task was to save Fred the worm.  His boat capsized and he couldn't get to his life jacket.  The kids were to the rescue!  Their only challenge was not being allowed to use their hands to touch Fred, the boat, or the life jacket.  Each group had to use 4 paperclips as their tools to save Fred.  They proved that working together and saving Fred can be smooth sailing!
