Pairs of Fun

Students played a game of Close to 100 which reinforces estimating, adding, and subtracting multi digit numbers.  They work so well together!

Math Warm Ups

Rounding Roadtrip!

Students went on a "Rounding Road Trip" as they practiced rounding to the nearest ten and hundred.  Please continue to reinforce this skill at home.  Don't get hung up on the digit in the tens place when rounding.  Think about how many tens are in  a number such as 363.  Hopefully, your child will tell you there are 36 and not just 6:)  Thirty six tens are sure closer to 40 tens than 30 tens!

Character Continuum

We read one of my favorite titled Thank You, Mr. Falker by Patricia Polacco.  This has been a great mentor text for the start of a new year.  We all face obstacles and appreciate those that help us along the way.  Students worked in groups to create a character continuum poster for the main character Trisha.

Multiplication Sundae and Good Luck!

Nothing like ending the year with a multiplication sundae. I wish all twenty four of my rising fourth graders nothing but the best!  Love You!!!

Should There Be Zoos????

Well the vote is in and there should be zoos!  Students did an excellent job presenting their stance on whether or not animals should be held in captivity.  The virtual zoo was also a success!!  Thanks family and friends for spending time at The Coded Critter Zoo:)

Looking Back on Field Trip and Field Day

Field Day Fun!

Students visited the Historic Arkansas Museum. They made butter, searched for gold, and got to watch a blacksmith in action.

They are learning quickly and posting their thoughts.
  I love it!
